On Christmas Eve I got my copy of Bustafellows. I've been playing a bunch since then and it's so good so far.... I really love the main characters and side characters. I love Teuta too, she's a good protagonist. I was originally planning on either going for Helvetica or Shuu's route first, but Scarecrow totally got me with how cute he is... He's a stupid dork loser who tries really hard to seem cool but constantly fails at it and the others always tease him. It's so cute, I'm gonna do his route first. I love all the girl side characters. They're all so cool. I really wish there was a yuri route with Luka I love her........

It's very much a spiritual successor to one of the dev's previous games, Sidekicks, which I've also played. It was like their only game that sold well lol so of course they'd do something similar again after the game they released inbetween Sidekicks and Bustafellows kinda flopped.

I wasn't sure if I was gonna buy it initially since I was worried it might be a bit too similar to Sidekicks and possibly a bit boring. Thankfully I was wrong. It's very similar in the general feel of it and the aesthetic but other things are different enough that it doesn't feel too same-y.

I'm still only on the common route so far but I think I might end up liking it more than I did Sidekicks. It's really interesting. Also I really like the UI design. It feels so modern and fancy. Doesn't feel like your standard par the course(is that the phrase?) otome game UI design. Also there are several backgrounds that have animated parts to them which is really cool. Otome games should really have animated backgrounds more often. 

Also I still love the Character designer Sumeragi (same as Sidekicks). I love the designs of all the characters and the quality of the art is so good. I love all the CGs I've seen so far. It doesn't feel like really standard otome game design either. Probably because before doing Sidekicks, all Sumeragi had done previously was straight male target audience eroge, to my knowledge anyway.

In conclusion it's just really neat and whenever I start playing it it's hard to put it back down again. Maybe if I'm not too lazy and feel like it I'll make another post after finishing Scarecrow's route or something.
